Vice-Rector for Science and Director of the Institute of Statistics and Demography at Warsaw School of Economics. Member of the Committee on Demographic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, former undersecretary of state in the Polish Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and member of the Supervisory Board of the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). Her areas of specialisation include demography, pension systems, the labour market, social policy, health and education.
Marcin Gajdzinski became General Manager of IBM in Poland and Baltics in November 2021. He has almost 30 years of experience in sales management. During his career was responsible, for cooperation with Business Partners, implementing a number of consolidation processes, including the creation of the IBM Innovation Center and "Channel One" structure. Formerly also General Manager of Lenovo Global Technology. Graduated from the University of Economics in Katowice.
Ph.D. in partial differential equations, works at the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the University of Warsaw. Author of the bestselling book "Scientific computing. Efficient, fast, impressive" (published by PWN, in Polish). Among his scientific interests are numerical linear algebra and partial differential equations, and fast solvers designed for parallel computers. He loves to hear stories about surprises (or disasters) resulting from careless use of computing packages.
He has overseen many projects aimed at raising the quality and range of post-trade services, adapting the Polish financial market to competition and international standards. He holds an M.Eng. from the Cybernetics Department at the Military University of Technology and a post-graduate degree in IT studies, he completed a PhD programme in Economic Science at the Warsaw School of Economics and the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at the IESE Business School of the University of Navarre.
Ph.D. in Dynamical Systems. Works at IBM as the IBM Z Brand Sales Leader for Central and Eastern Europe (IBM Z, LinuxONE, HPVS) and at the University of Warsaw. Graduated from the University of Warsaw, Warsaw School of Economics and the University of Warwick. Interested in cloud native machine learning and DeFi. Founder of the cycle Ustawka Technologiczna, that entails also the actual contest. Loves to work with people across the generations and still aspires to be an athlete.
Graduated with honors from Warsaw School of Economics and holds a Ph.D. in Economics. His Ph.D. thesis was devoted to capital markets cyclicality. Has more than 25 years of experience in professional services (BCG, Deloitte, KPMG) and the financial sector (ING, CAIB). At KPMG Poland is Head of Business Advisory (Managing Partner) and member of Management Committee. Crypto and DeFi (Decentralized Finance) are one of his hobbies he spends time on - if his 4 kids and wife allow :-)
